From the Desk of the Festival Director
The journey has just begun for the Southwest LGBT Film Society, with the launch of our 1st Annual “Out in the Desert”, Tucson’s International LGBT Film Festival.
Film submissions are pouring in from all over the world, as well as from local filmmakers in and around the Tucson area. “Out in the Desert” has received nearly 200 films, and we’re not done yet! We’re working hard behind the scenes not only to bring you the very best in LGBT filmmaking, but to showcase the true diversity that is our community.
With many years of experience in the LGBT Film Festival Circuit, I can tell you first hand that film can and does change people’s lives. I’ve met people with wonderful stories of how LGBT films have greatly enriched their lives. For this reason, I felt the importance of beginning the groundwork for the Southwest LGBT Film Society and its programs.
So, as we begin the journey on our 1st Annual “Out in the Desert”, we hope that you will be inspired to join us in some way this coming year. Attend our monthly film screenings, participate in our fundraisers, make a donation, share your talents through volunteering and come to the festival. With an array of exciting films and events coming your way, you are sure to be entertained!
Thank you in advance for your support. If you would like to find out more about joining the steering committee or volunteering, please visit our website at www.outinthedesertff.org, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wishing you all the best,
